Operating with efficiency and integrity for all by ensuring the City Clerk’s office is welcoming and responsive to everyone
I will bring fresh energy and move towards a more engaged and progressive office environment.
Using an innovative lens with more inclusive approaches to dialogue rooted in clarity and compassion.
COMPASSION, KINDNESS, RESPECT, EMPATHY, EFFICIENCY, INCLUSIVENESS
If you look at the City Clerk’s website, it’s completely outdated, boring, not user friendly, and full of links to other websites. It does not convey a sense of community, nor is welcoming or helpful. I’ll change all that. I’ll demand the website be completely redone and made to fit the needs of the community. It will be user friendly and consist of helpful information that everyone can use. It will also be multilingual and will be a resource everyone can rely upon.
Due to the pandemic, the office hasn’t been able to fully open. I will integrate modern technology, including allowing people to conduct business via Zoom, telephone, or other platforms. Just because we are limited physically, doesn’t mean we can’t do business in some other way. I’ll make sure we have better communication and access mechanisms to continue to reach more people.
I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the office and the need to improve upon the services. I’ll make sure we conduct regular surveys to monitor the quality of the services provided and gather input from the community on ideas and suggestions to improve upon our services. The current office holder seems to think everything is fine and nothing needs to change. That’s where I completely disagree. We can always change for the better and not be stuck in the same old ways of doing things.
I will demand that our people have access to platforms that allow for interpreters to be used on demand. There are interpreter services that can be made available on demand through interpreter services and programs that will make it easier for us to communicate. No one will be left out or feel excluded. Our mantra will be fair and equal treatment for everyone. We will practice and preach inclusivity for all.
I will have special hours and accommodations to take care of our most vulnerable which includes our senior citizens and our disabled community. They will be in the front of the line at all times and we will make sure they are taken care of first. No appointments will be necessary for them, because they will always be a priority.
These are just some examples of the change that needs to happen. I can’t wait to get in there and make our clerk’s office run better for everyone. I need your help and so I’m asking for your vote, Carley Manalo for Clerk of Daly City.
